Full length officer's machine-woven /aluminum thread (also called "flat wire") cuff title
worn by officers of the 3rd SS-Standarte "Der Führer" of the
SS-Verfügunstruppe (Special Purpose Troops). It was eventually incorporated into
the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich of the Waffen-SS as the 4th SS-Panzer
Grenadier Regiment "Der Führer". The Gothic script (as shown) was only used from
September 1938 to December 1939 when it was changed to Roman. Note "salt and pepper"
backing.
